Soccer Stags Dominate Leopards

Pre-Game CoverageBy Dante Quazzo The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Stags (10-4-1, 7-3-1 SCIAC) Men’s Soccer team takes on the La Verne Leopards (5-7-1, 4-6-1 SCIAC) as the SCIAC season enters its final stretch. The Stags are currently in second place in the SCIAC, and look to grab the all-important (2) seed in the postseason tournament. The Stags had a four-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday in a loss to the Whittier Poets, but will look to rebound. CMC junior Jared Bernstein is tied for the team leads in goals with seven this year with teammate Harrison Doyle (CMC ’13). Bernstein and Doyle will look to spark the Stags offensively against a tough Leopards defense. La Verne sophomore Ryan Estrada leads the Leopards with four goals and ten points on the year, and will look to take it to the CMS defense. Head on over to Pritzlaff field for some exciting afternoon action!
