Men's Soccer: Stags write off Poets, 4-0

The Stags improved their record to 3-1 in league play with a definitive 4-0 victory against the Whittier Poets this Saturday. Eric Bean, Jake Bishop, Jared Bernstein, and Sam Ullman all improved their scoring tallies against a Whittier side that found difficulties finishing in the final third of the field. After this impressive result, the Stags will look to continue with their current form and prove themselves as a dominant force in SCIAC.

The Stags play their next game this Wednesday, September 28th, against La Verne. Kick-off is at 7:00 PM at Damien High School. Their next home game is Wednesday, October 5th, at 7:00 PM against Caltech.

Game Preview

The CMS Stags (5-2, 2-1 SCIAC) return to conference play after downing the Hendrix College Warriors (3-2-2) 3-2 on Friday. In the first half of Friday's matchup, Alex Lichtenberg (CMC '12) headed one in for the Stags and Jake Bishop (CMC '15), scoring his first home goal, and Harrison Doyle (CMC '13) added one-a-piece in a second half come back.

Wednesday, the Stags fell to fellow SCIAC and 6th street foes, the PP Sagehens, but look to rebound in SCIAC play against the Whittier Poets (2-4, 2-1 SCIAC). The Stags sit tied in 2nd in the conference with, Occidental, Whittier, and Pomona-Pitzer with the Hens edging the tiebreak with the head-to-head victory over the Stags.
