A little Preview from Professor Morrison:
"A Clockwork Orange" raises significant questions about the free will of individuals within administered societies.  It continues a career-long interest in that theme by its director, Stanley Kubrick, whose films concern transformations of humanity in the modern age.  Like many of Kubrick's movies, `A Clockwork Orange' considers the legacy of Jeremy Bentham's programs of "reform," which were so influential in the formation of the modern liberal democracies.  `A Clockwork Orange' takes on fascinating new meanings when understood as a critique of utilitarianism and modern instrumental rationality."
