I believe the real question prsmith is raising is what constitutes a natural born citizen, even if he is too incoherent to state this explicitly.

One can be a citizen and not a natural born citizen. In my brief understanding, one can become a citizen by blood (jus sanguinis) or by being born in that country (jus soli).

My understanding is that there is no explicit definition of what constitutes a natural born citizen. So while I disagree with prsmith, and believe that someone naturally born in the US is a natural born citizen, lawyers have a way of twisting words.

But the 14th ammendment only explicitly addresses citizenship and not natural born citizenship.

I think I can solve the problem here…prsmith needs to get laid, big time. What are u trying to achieve? If you feel so strongly about it, get a petition going, or do something that will lead you somewhere. I feel like commenting on a college forum repeatedly is such a waste of your time, since you are so smart.

Your comment is 100% correct and both Jindal and Obama (assuming he was born in HI) are citizens. . .unfortunately it has absolutely nothing to do with the definition of a natural born citizen or the eligibility of these two men to be the POTUS.
