I heard that one reason most schools have a Fall Break of some sort is because the highest risk of suicide by freshmen is at around 7 or 8 weeks into the semester...

If I were to hazard a guess, being a student myself, students having no school work to do for four days would tend to use a disproportionately huge amount of electricity. Which, if not consumed, could make green people smile way more than not taking a flight that was going to fly anyway.
As I see it, students staying on campus during break will use a huge amount of electricity, hence increasing the carbon emissions of the college. It would probably be more than flying back home. Even if it is not, commercial flights are going to fly regardless of whether kids from a 1000 student college fly home. However, if they are all at home, the college could save a significant amount of power. This should make our 'global warming' doomsday friends happy

"I grow weary..."

it's a bit late to try and take the high road CJ, and act like you never wanted to have this conversation. old timer was right. you guys should just share a gmail account, and send back and forth e-mails to yourselves. admittedly the entire forum's readers will miss laughing at the caliber of your conversations, but it would cut down on the dumb posts.

half of the stuff on the forum now is your blog spam. if i wanted spam, I would go to L&L

Technically, I responded, but hey, I'm just being descriptive. It's you that took a perfectly innocuous and funny post and distorted it on the Forum.

But I grow weary of these little skirmishes, and will retire to my work.
