Yeah, RCP has been moving decidedly rightward since the rise of Obama. I balance it by reading fivethirtyeight.com. It was founded by a baseball statistician, and focuses on polls and stats, and it's got a leftward tilt, but not a crazy one.

Per suggestion, Ive been reading real clear politics daily. I couldn't help but notice a clear lack of liberal articles. I by no means consider myself a democrat, but many arguments made by various republican writers seemed to intentionally misconstrue presidential statements and poll responses to forward their obvious right wing discrepancies. I think I'll stick to the economist. At least with them, my ignorance of english politics gives the impression of non-biased reporting. Are there any other political or news websites that you would suggest?

One other thing you need to know: 98% of CMC Forum articles will turn into debates with/about/in spite of Charles Johnson.

Politico.com...use it

Piece of advice number one is the truest story ever told.

Last until at least 6:30 on 6:01. And don't throw up in or around the general door vicinity of Green 107. If you can avoid it. Really. Please don't.

How am I fair game? By having my own opinions? And what bridges did I burn?

I think it's more likely that people can't respond to my arguments so they make things personal. Often people who are intolerant of heterodox ideas feel the need to go after people personally. I know that it's often a good tactic to demonize someone with whom you disagree politically -- Saul Alinksy would be proud -- but it's a lazy way out.

I understand the efforts to go after me personally, but really, you should let the freshmen make up their own opinions about CMC and those who attend it -- if only so they can make their own prejudices. It's a courtesy you were extended, after all, why not extend it to others?
