from what i have heard by word of mouth, the new trolley purchased by claremont cost over $900k !! i have seen a total of 4 people riding the stupid thing! if they want more customers, they should consider bringing the trolley to the 5Cs to attract lazy or drunk college students to the village

YES. Coldstone is leaving! It was such an eyesore. Always full of trashy people. Why in the world would you go to Coldstone when you have 21 Choices, Bert and Rocky's, AND Kiwibear????????

They should try to market themselves more to the collegiate community. There might only be 5,000 of us, but our spending power is much greater. If anything, they need to put in a student-specific bar. They margins would be HUGE.

i think the obvious problem with marketing claremont as a "shopping destination" is the complete lack of... shopping. there are only a few clothing stores worth going to and there are tons of services stores like salons, cleaners, and even shoe repair storefronts. it's a residential town center, not a shopping destination.

we need something like a jcrew or banana republic before people will "shop" in claremont. maybe the new little shopping development east of claremont boulevard between 6th and 1st street will have some cool stuff. but it won't be walkable.
