I was browsing through the CMC forum and read a few of your articles. It's hard to ignore your arrogant writing style. You probably know a lot about politics but you don't need to talk down to your readers on the Forum.

But did you ever consider that the two of you -- elite private college educated -- are not exactly representative of the group that dislikes Ms. Giffords?

I also live in the 8th district. I interned for Giffords' business office a few summers ago and have watched her fight local problems with huge success. She garnered great support after her bargain with Fort Huachuca to keep West Gate open and holds many open meetings for input and perspective. She is one of the few Arizona politicians I can stand behind with pride. Go Gabby!

I live in Arizona's 8th district and it seems to me that Giffords continues to have a lot of support from the youth/hispanic populations. Additionally, many older white semi-conservative/ independents still have faith in her policies and intentions. Honestly, I don't think the race will be as close as Jesse makes it out to be, but who knows? As Jesse points out, it is a slightly conservative district and as the 'hope for change' that the Democrats relied on in '06 and '08 wanes, she will have a more difficult time getting re-elected.

I'm voting GIffords though....go Scrippsies
