Update on the new E-603 album:

I listened to “Torn Up” about 3 times through at work today. I would give it a solid 8.4/10 on the Pitchfork use all the numbers scale, which means it’s solid. Tracks to watch: “Smash That” and “If You Wanna.”

@Bluebond They have two albums– I like the first more than the second.

@Mark Yeah, I have some Easter Egg but found it too hit or miss in my experience. With E-603 and Super Mash Bros, I’ve enjoyed pretty much every track.

Also, some sketchy-looking dude named “Cobra” wrote me an e-mail to get me to link to his music. It’s decent, mellow mash-ups. Not very breakthrough, as it seems to draw from much of what’s been done by other DJs.

I haven’t had enough time with the new E-603 album to make any strong criticisms (I have only listened to it twice), but the Southerngold album is one of the best albums of the year, mashup or otherwise. If Bud Light has drinkability, Southerngold has listenability.

Super Mash Bros are fun, but the album gets old. It sort of feels like a novelty that you grow tired of after 2-3 listens.
