Drench: A Colorful, Thoughtful, and Addicting Game
Many of us may have played those annoying flash games on sidebars when bored–I know that I’ve “Punched Osama Bin Laden to win a free iPod” countless times. Wouldn’t it be cool if you could combine the mind-numbing bliss of flash games with some actual strategy–just not the strategy that would require that you brush up on your copy of Sun Tzu’s Art of War ? Throw in some bright colors, and you got this week’s flash game: Drench.
Drench or “the world’s simplest flash game” is surprisingly easy to play. All you have to do is change the color of the square in the upper right corner to the same color as a neighboring square. You then repeat this, until you have absorbed all of the colors. The one catch? You only have a set number of moves. Each level you advance means one less move that you can use. By the fifth level, you have to do serious planning ahead in order to continue. And by serious strategy, I mean, your head will probably hurt, you will get frustrated, and you will want to go back to doing homework. Except you won’t, because once you get into it, Drench will get addicting.
