For a different, better cheap beer in my opinion, I recommend Simpler Times from Trader Joes. I believe its only 3 dollars for a six pack.

Can we PLEASE get over the whole beer pong vs. beirut debate. Who cares what you call it? Does anyone actually play "beer pong" with paddles and four cups. We all know what I'm talking about if I say I played beer pong this weekend, just like we all know when I say I watched football I'm talking about tackle football not soccer. I'm tired of the pretentiousness of freakin' drinking games.

That must have been a fun study :)
The stats weren't their and didn't really support the conclusion. Just because you can't identify a beer doesn't mean you can't rank it. And the majority of people preferred bud light, so yes, we can separate higher quality cheap beers from lower quality ones.

A big thing you are missing out on here are placebo effects you get when seeing the can or bottle. I can't drink Milwaukee's Best without gagging but if you gave it to me in a blind taste test I bet it would be alright. When I see someone playing rut with coors, I am much more inclined to wait for next game than when they are playing with keystone. Am I a snob? Yeah, but part of 'rut is having fun and if an extra $5 accomplishes that, I think it is worth it.
