While the semester may be winding down, the arts scene at the 5C’s is still in full swing. To stay up to date on upcoming events, check out The Forum‘s guide to all of the exciting arts-related opportunities the 5Cs have to offer before the Claremont Summer exodus:

Studio 47 5C Student Film Festival

Come watch your fellow students’ films and see them get awarded in the following categories: Best Narrative Short; Best Non-Fiction Short; Best Experimental Short; Best Sound (Design + Mechanics); Best Cinematography; Best Screenplay; Best Actor.

Formal attire is recommended. Admission is free and there will be food served. After the films, there will be a judging panel of 5C professors and student filmmakers.

PAct Presents: Paint Your Own Pottery!

If you’re tired of typing away for finals, come craft with your hands instead! PAct will be bringing students to In the Kiln in San Dimas for pottery painting. Space is limited, so sign up as soon as possible in the OSA!

Levitt on the Lawn: Meklit

Come listen to Meklit perform a free concert! Both a Yale graduate and San Francisco native, Meklit translates her Ethiopian roots through a fusion of jazz and folk music. Admission is free for 5C students.

As described by The San Francisco Chronicle, “She sings of fragility, hope and self-empowerment, and exudes all three. What’s irresistible, above all, is her cradling, sensuous, gentle sound. She is stunning.”

CCBDC 20th Anniversary Gala

Past, present, and future generations of ballroom dancers will come together for a magical night of movement! Admission is free.

Latinx Student Union Rockabilly Festival 2018

The Pitzer College Latinx Student Union will be hosting their 11th Annual Rockabilly Festival. There will be a variety of live music played by local bands, a car show, vendors, food and more family-friendly fun at the event. For more information, follow @pzlsu on Instagram. Admission to this event is free.
