Live Updates from Room Draw

Room draw drama is in full force, and the Forum is doing its best to help you get your housing in order. We have created a map of the campus dorms, and a Forum correspondent will be on site in Heggblade as room draw happens.

We have noted current RA and retained rooms. We have also indicated where future RAs may live. Be aware that residents of those rooms may be asked to move next spring.

For your convenience, up to date room draw numbers are posted here.

Disclaimer: This is an informal map for informal planning purposes only. Visit Heggblade to view Housing’s official map. We do not guarantee the accuracy, timeliness, scale, or orientation of the dorm representations below. Please be aware that the North/East/South/West orientations differ by dorm.

Can you please describe what the different colors/shades mean?

I’m not involved in this post, but I’m going to assume pink is for women and blue is for men. Claremont is gray because it’s gender neutral rooms. I’m also assuming the shading is simply to differentiate rooms of the same gender next to each other.

    Dan’s right.

We colored the rooms shades of pink or blue based on its current gender designation. Grey dorms are not gender-designated. The variations in pink or blue don’t mean anything–just for fun. The map will change as rooms get taken to help you plan in real time.

  • Just to confirm

So as the rooms are chosen, they will be somehow designated as taken. How often will this be updated?

  • Apts

Might the geniuses behind these dorm maps be able to make maps for the Apts and send them out so those of us not involved in room draw know where to find each other next year? Like a neighborhood directory or something.

I don’t have a map, but the apartments are laid out in a pretty simple manner.

    There are four buildings: 681, 671, 661, & 651.

681 is the north-most building (when you’re walking from campus to the Apts turn left), the one closest to the baseball diamond. The dunkhoops are between the south end of 681 and the north end of 671.

671 is the next building (the north side of the area where most of the parties have happned this year)

661 is the third building down. If you’re coming from campus you exit the path to your right.

651 is the southern-most building (half of the rooms are outside the gate facing on to 6th street).

If you’re wondering which letters go with which rooms, you may just have to walk over. Each door has a big black letter on it, so you can find your way around.

    Hope this helps.
